Canyons

Well, it has been a busy couple of days! We planned on visiting the Grand Canyon on the way to Virgin Utah which we did but we did not plan on a 3 hour detour because of a road closure through the Navajo Nation due to a covid lockdown. Given this fact the Canyon was not very crowded for a Saturday. Our plan was to ride bikes out and back on Hermit Road which was great since no shuttles were in service so we had the whole road to ourselves and hikers did not make it out very far due to the heat.

It was hot but on the bike, it was not too bad.

Unbelievable vistas

So, getting in rather late since we lost an hour since Arizona does not follow daylight savings time we arrived in Virgin after 9 pm mt. We decided to hit Gooseberry Mesa for our first ride which was just over the mesa from our hotel but took 50 min on dirt roads to reach.

But, well worth the effort riding on a mesa of rock.

Heidi and Mark were enjoying.

We ended the day at the hotel pool which was great and not very crowded at all. Tried to video but the hotel wifi was not good. Tomorrow Zion Narrows hike.
